Gardall BGF6040 Gun Safe, which bears an RSC (Residential Security Containers) label, passed a 5-minute test in which one man attempts to physically attack the unit using mechanical instruments commonly present in the home. This 805-pound Gardall BGF6040 safe has an external dimension of 59.13″H x 40″W x 26″D and an extensive storage area of 23.7 cubic feet that can fit 39 rifles without scopes. Fire and corrosion resistant
The steel body of the Gardall BGF6040 Gun Safe features a matte black powder coat finish. Unlike liquid paints, this paint went through a thermal curing process, making it more flame resistant. It is also highly resistant to corrosion. This Gardall BGF6040 gun safe has a 60-minute fire rating and passed an endurance test at 1,400°F outside temperature. Throughout the trial period, it kept the interior temperature below 350°F and preserved the contents.
In addition, it has two layers of ½” fireboard insulation and an intumescent door seal. This seal grows to 7 times its original size and may fill the gap around the door, preventing it from catching fire quickly. It also keeps the fire from simply spreading via the holes around it.
Durable body construction
Gardall BGF6040 meets the standard criteria of a quality gun safe due to its steel construction. It has an 11-gauge steel body and a ¼”-gauge steel door. With its active 9 active bolts measuring 1-1/2″ each, the door is also pry-resistant. It also has three locking bolts (top, middle, and bottom) to secure the door to the safe’s body. Use its anchor holes during installation for increased security and stability.
Choice of mechanical or electronic lock
You can use the normal mechanical lock that comes with this safe or upgrade to the S&G Titan electronic lock, depending on your desire or locking necessity. Because it does not require batteries or a power source to function, the conventional mechanical lock can save you money.
