Effective [launch date] · v1.0

The short version

  • Before you buy: free advice from working locksmiths on choosing the right safe.
  • After you buy: free help by phone and email with operating your safe, changing combinations, and first-line troubleshooting.
  • Free for as long as you own the safe, for the original purchaser.
  • This is advice, not a warranty. It doesn’t repair, replace, or cover anything. Warranty claims go to the manufacturer.

Before you buy: free consultation

Choosing a safe involves tradeoffs most people only make once. We’d rather you spend twenty minutes on the phone with us than spend $2,000 on the wrong safe.

Call (877) 587-7333 and we’ll talk through:

  • What you’re actually protecting, and what level of protection that calls for
  • Fire ratings and burglary ratings — what they mean, what they’re tested for, and where the differences matter
  • Sizing — the most common regret is buying too small
  • Lock type — mechanical dial versus electronic keypad versus biometric, and the honest tradeoffs
  • Placement — where it can go, what your floor needs to hold, whether it can be anchored
  • Delivery reality — whether a given safe can actually get where you want it

Our people have spent years opening, repairing, moving, and installing safes. That tends to produce different advice than a spec sheet does. If the right answer is a cheaper safe, we’ll say so.

After you buy: owner support

Free technical support for as long as you own your safe. Call or email and we’ll help with:

  • Operating your safe — the things manuals explain badly
  • Combination changes on mechanical locks
  • Electronic lock programming — user codes, master codes, time delays, lockout settings
  • Batteries — which ones, how often, what happens when they die (your safe does not lock you out; that’s the most common worry and it’s unfounded on every safe we sell)
  • Error codes and beep patterns — what your lock is trying to tell you
  • Initial troubleshooting when something isn’t behaving: we work through it with you and help identify what’s actually wrong
  • Bolt-down and anchoring guidance if you’re doing it yourself
  • Working out whether something is a warranty matter, and pointing you to the right place if it is

Most problems people expect to be serious turn out to be a flat battery, a mis-entered code, or a handle that needs turning further than expected. Those take one phone call.

What this service is not

This is free advice. It is not a warranty, and it doesn’t create one.

  • It is not a warranty and does not extend, modify, add to, or replace any manufacturer’s warranty
  • It does not obligate Alpine Safes to repair or replace anything
  • It does not cover parts, labor, on-site visits, or locksmith call-outs
  • It is not an emergency lockout or safe-opening service

Warranty claims go directly to the manufacturer, under that manufacturer’s own terms. Every brand we carry, what it covers, and how to file: Manufacturer Warranties.

Damage that happened in transit is a different process again, with its own deadlines: Damage, Defects & Claims.

We’ll happily help you work out which of those you’re dealing with. That’s part of the support. What we can’t do is stand in for the manufacturer’s warranty.

Who can use it

Support is for the original purchaser of a safe bought from Alpine Safes, and it’s not transferable — if you sell your safe, it doesn’t carry over to the new owner.

Have your order number handy when you get in touch; it’s the fastest way for us to see exactly which safe and which lock you have.

Pre-purchase consultation is open to anyone. Call us whether or not you end up buying from us.

When you need hands-on help

Some things can’t be solved over the phone. A lock that has genuinely failed, a safe that needs drilling and repair, or a unit that needs moving requires someone physically present.

  • In NYC and parts of New Jersey, our own locksmiths can come to you as a paid service: Installation & On-Site Services
  • Elsewhere, we can point you toward a local safe technician. You’d hire them directly (how referrals work)
  • If it’s a warranty issue, start with the manufacturer — several brands pay for locksmith costs under warranty, and you shouldn’t pay for something they’d cover: Manufacturer Warranties
